Lines were long when I was there. Ice cream was amazing! I compare it to a very close Zesto in Pierre.

At first I said, soft serve? Eh - I'll pass. But THEN!! When we pulled up the front patio was OVERFLOWING with people! They said this was slow for a Friday night too! (We're still at only the beginning of the season in May.) Words: Yummy, smooth, cold, tantalizing, sensational, soft, creamy, and amazing! They have SOOO many toppings and mixtures to choose from. Check out the menu picture! Personally, I'm a deep tub of ice cream with lots of mix-ins kind of girl. None of the sprinkled on top business. LOL. But for a group or family? Armadillos has something for everyone!!
I visited South Dakota for the first time last week (4/4-7/24). I got in Thursday night and left early morning Sunday. I had Armadillos on Friday and liked it so much that I went back Saturday as well. Do I feel bad having ice cream two days in a row? Nopity Nope. I even went out in the rain for it on Saturday. Very quick service from the nice young adults working there! A clean an welcoming environment. It looked like a great place to meet a friend, or for a kid to celebrate a birthday. Maybe even have a first date? Loved it! South Dakota is a beautiful state. I hope to visit again and when I do, I will be sure to stop by Armadillos again!
Food 4* Service 5* Ambiance 5* Shakes 5* so good. The service was great! Everyone so nice, service was fast we waited no longer than 5-6 minutes.
Yum-O! How fun to make sundaes and malts with soft serve ice cream!! Great atmosphere and a fun place to go for a treat! The only reason they didn't get a five star is the hot fudge was very sparse, and my friend wanted to order a side of hot fudge to go with her shake, and they said they can't sell just that.
